Malaysian Anti Corruption Academy Talk

As part of Clearwisdom’s commitment to upholding strong ethical standards and anti-corruption practices, the company organised an awareness talk in collaboration with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy (SPRM Academy). The session was conducted by ASP Tn Nik Lokman Hakim bin Nik Mohd Nor, a seasoned investigator with many years of experience serving under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission. Throughout the three-hour session, which was held on Friday, 6 February 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Student Wing, AvAC, the speaker delivered an insightful and comprehensive presentation covering a wide range of topics related to corruption and bribery. These included the definition and forms of bribery, the social and economic impacts of corruption, Malaysia’s standing in terms of corruption perception, relevant laws governing corruption and bribery, and the concept of corporate liability.

In addition to explaining the legal framework, Tn Lokman also shared several real-life experiences from his investigations, which provided practical perspectives on how corruption cases are handled and the serious consequences faced by individuals and organisations involved. A key highlight of the talk was the detailed explanation of Section 17A of the MACC Act, which emphasises corporate liability and the responsibility of company management and employees in preventing corrupt practices within their organisations. The speaker stressed that the penalties under the MACC Act are severe, serving as a strong reminder for all personnel to consistently uphold integrity and ethical conduct in their professional responsibilities. The session was attended by a total of 21 personnel, including the Executive Director and several managers, reflecting Clearwisdom’s collective commitment to fostering a transparent and corruption-free work environment.
